COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
BCDC is firmly committed to forging strong connections with local partners and businesses in both Haiti and the USA, with the ultimate goal of fostering safe and thriving communities. In the USA, our initiatives encompass a wide range of community-focused efforts. We organize community resource fairs and engage in clean-up and beautification projects. We also host community baby showers, provide job readiness programs, and offer workforce development opportunities. Furthermore, we extend immigration services and create engaging youth and after-school programs.
In Haiti, our approach is shaped by the PEACE Plan. This involves promoting reconciliation between individuals and God through the establishment of churches. We also strive to equip servant leaders with character training, aiming to empower them with the necessary skills and mindset to make a positive impact. Our commitment to assisting the less fortunate is manifested in our job creation initiatives, such as motorcycle taxis and microloans. We also operate mobile medical clinics to cater to the healthcare needs of the underserved. Finally, we are passionate about educating the next generation, providing them with comprehensive academic and vocational training to prepare them for a successful future.
IMMIGRATION INTEGRATION
BCDC wholeheartedly embrace immigrants and refugees, providing a welcoming environment filled with acceptance and understanding. Our commitment to their successful integration is unwavering, and we are dedicated to making their transition as smooth as possible.
We understand the challenges that come with transitioning to a new environment and culture, and we want them to know that they’re not alone in this journey. To help them navigate through this new chapter of their life, we offer an array of services designed to equip them with the tools and resources they need to thrive.
Language and life skills education is one of our key offerings. With our comprehensive language programs, we aim to help them communicate effectively and confidently in their new surroundings. We believe that language is a crucial bridge to understanding and being understood, and we are here to guide them every step of the way. Additionally, our life skills programs cover a wide range of essential topics, such as understanding local customs, managing finances, and navigating public transportation.
To prepare them for the job market, we offer job readiness programs focused on building your employability skills. These services include resume building, interview coaching, and career counseling. Our goal is to help them understand the job market, identify their strengths and areas for development, and equip them with the skills required to secure a job.
Finally, we offer resource building services to connect you with a network of valuable resources. From housing and healthcare services to community groups and local events, we strive to ensure you have access to the resources you need to settle comfortably into your new community.
EDUCATION
We are absolutely thrilled to extend our heartfelt enthusiasm for the transformative power of education. Our operations are rooted in Haiti, where we have initiated an inspiring student sponsorship program. This remarkable program is designed to foster an environment conducive to intellectual growth, creating a platform for innovation through sound education.
Our reach spans across five major cities in Haiti, where we work tirelessly to uplift the academic potential of our students. Our commitment to excellence is further reflected in our comprehensive teacher training initiatives. We firmly believe in the concept of lifelong learning and thus, we make a conscious effort to continuously nurture and refine the skills of our educators.
Moreover, we also proudly administer vocational school programs. These programs are tailored to identify, cultivate, and polish the unique talents of each of our students. We are confident that such initiatives will not only empower them acadically but will also pave the way for their future professional success.
In the United States, our dedication to education echoes through our active participation in community graduations. We take immense pride in witnessing our members, as well as students from local high schools and elementary schools, ascend the stage to receive their hard-earned diplomas. These moments of achievement serve as a testament to the positive influence we aspire to have on our communities.
Our commitment to language acquisition is also evident in our support for English language learners. We provide them ample opportunities to immerse themselves in a new language, promoting their linguistic growth and cultural understanding. Looking ahead, we are excited to launch our after-school tutoring classes. This initiative will provide additional support to our students, ensuring they thrive in their academic pursuits.
