BCDC USA PROGRAMS

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

We work directly with local partners and businesses in the community, both in Haiti and the USA, to promote safe and prosperous neighborhoods.

EDUCATION

We celebrate education! In Haiti, we have a student sponsorship program; partner with a vocational school, and hold teacher development training. In the USA, we offer classes and workshops to encourage lifelong learning. Every June, in grand pomp and circumstance, we honor the achievements of scholars from Pre-K to Ph.D at our annual graduation ceremony.

WORK LIFE PROGRAM

A comprehensive approach that includes practical workshops, personalized career coaching, and access to valuable resources to develop confidence and competencies needed to secure meaningful employment.

IMMIGRANT INTEGRATION

We welcome immigrants and refugees to NYC with open arms and a warm heart. We empower newcomers with essential services such as language and life skills programs, job readiness training, and resource building.

BCDC HAITI PROGRAMS

FOOD & CLOTHING DISTRIBUTION

BCDC makes a significant impact in various communities throughout Haiti with its food and clothing distribution program. At each medical clinic, we provide a home-cooked meal to those waiting to see the doctor, and we also offer dry goods and clothing for them to take home, in addition to providing necessary medicines. During Easter and Christmas, our distribution of dry goods has been particularly helpful in supporting these communities during the holidays.

HAITI ONE BY ONE

Educating the next generation through student sponsorship, leadership training, and school support. The mission is to make education accessible to EVERY CHILD IN HAITI, regardless of their economic background. By bridging the gap between donors and students, we create LIFE-CHANGING OPPORTUNITIES for young individuals, empowering them to reach their full potential. Join us by becoming a sponsor today.

RESTORE & REBUILD HOMES

The construction of numerous earthquake- and hurricane-resistant homes by BCDC has had a profoundly positive impact on the community. By providing stability and hope for victims of natural disasters, these homes offer safety and security to affected residents, contributing to the overall resilience of the community. Moreover, the construction of these sustainable homes by BCDC demonstrates a commitment to the community's well-being, serving as a beacon of progress and a symbol of collective strength, and above all, echoes its mission of “Rebuilding, Repairing, and Restoring Lives and Communities.”

WOMEN OF WORTH

BCDC's Women of Worth initiative aids underprivileged women--the majority of whom are single parents--by offering them opportunities to pursue their education. Additionally, it provides microloans for business start-ups, thus helping these women on their journey towards financial independence.

MICRO LOANS

BCDC has given over 1,800 micro loans to individuals and churches in the communities we
serve--primarily in Leogane, Jeremie, and Port Salut; and expanded the micro loan program in all of the 10 departments in Haiti.

Motorcycle Taxis

BCDC has created 120 jobs through its motorcycle taxi business program by working with churches to identify and evaluate individuals from the church and the community to qualify them for a motorcycle. We train these candidates in morals, ethics, courtesy, professionalism, and customer service. Within one year, the individuals fully own their vehicles. Our goal is to create 1,000 motorcycle taxi jobs all across Haiti.

Culinary School & VOCATIONAL TRAINING

BCDC has trained 20 young women in various cuisines and pastry arts. Several have graduated and are now gainfully employed. BCDC also created jobs replacing roofs, repairing homes, and constructing churches in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew. We hired approximately 70 men and women and reconstructed approximately 100 homes and churches.

MOBILE MEDICAL CLINICS

We empower churches and communities in Haiti with our mobile health clinics. Our mobile health clinics are a beacon of accessible care that have served 1,500-2,000 individuals weekly. Using local churches within our network, these clinics provide essential medical services while nourishing the spirit with a sense of community. As people patiently await their turn to see a healthcare professional, we extend a caring touch by offering nutritious meals. The mobile health clinics help to bridge healthcare gaps and cultivate a comprehensive approach to wellness.

Equip Servant Leaders

We are equipping and training more than 1,700 pastors and leaders throughout Haiti in character and moral ethics, assisting them to lead their churches and communities with integrity. They will then pass this training on to 10 more leaders, eventually reaching over 2,000,000 people.
